Collections Widget, API and Shopify Extension

Australia Post has a network of 4800+ Collection points where consumer parcel receivers can address their parcels. These are:

By addressing their online orders to these collection points, customers can get them sent to a secure location of their choosing rather than run the risk that their parcel will be stolen from their doorstep or “carded” to an inconvenient location for them.

There are two ways that consumers can access a Collection Point address:

Registered Flow

A Consumer can register for a Parcel Locker or Parcel Collect (Post Office) address through MyPost or through the Auspost app here

This address can be used in the checkout of any retailers who use Australia Post for delivery or receivers can use our free “in-flight redirection” service to redirect their parcel to their registered collection point address.

Unregistered Flow

Many of Australia’s leading eCommerce players have included capability for their customers to select a collect point frictionlessly in their checkout flow without the need to register. Retailers can install the Collect capability into their checkout in one of three ways:

  1. A Shopify platformed retailer can simply download and install a free app from the Shopify store. This is a “no dev / no testing” approach that can be accomplished in just a few days.
  2. A non-Shopify retailer who is happy to acquire Australia Post’s UX can install our widget with 5 lines of code. This approach is a simple Dev and test task.
  3. A retailer who is keen to retain their own UX can call for the collection point locations and represent them in their own UX. This is a more involved CX and development task.
