Orders, shipments and items change state throughout their lifecycle, beginning with their creation within the system through to physical delivery of the related articles. The following table lists the various status values that are applicable:

Australia Post Article Status

The following table applies if the API is called with any of the following identifiers:

StatusDescription
CreatedThe item or items in the shipment have been created, but have not been finalised in an order.
SealedThe shipment has been added to an order.
InitiatedThe item or items in the shipment have been finalised in an order and will be delivered when the parcels are received by Australia Post.
In transitThe item or items in the shipment are being delivered.
DeliveredThe item or items in the shipment have been delivered.
Awaiting collectionThe item or items in the shipment are awaiting collection.
Possible delayA delay to the delivery of item or items in the shipment is highly likely. Refer to the Australia Post website or call 13 76 78 (13 POST) for more information.
Unsuccessful pickupThe item or items in the shipment could not be collected by Australia Post for delivery.
Article damagedThe item or items in the shipment were damaged during delivery.
CancelledDelivery of item or items in the shipment was cancelled.
Held by courierThe item or items in the shipment have been held by the courier.
Cannot be deliveredThe item or items in the shipment cannot be delivered as addressed.
Track items for detailed delivery informationA shipment level delivery summary cannot be determined, as the items in the shipment are at differing delivery statuses. Track the individual items in the shipment for detailed delivery information.

StarTrack Consignment Status

The following table only applies if the API is called with a StarTrack consignment note.

StatusDescription
At Delivery DepotConsignment is at carrier depot closest to receiver.
Booked InConsignment is at carrier depot closest to receiver.
ConfirmedSender has provided consignment information to carrier in preparation for shipment.
DeletedSender has deleted consignment information prepared earlier in preparation for shipment.
Delivered in FullAll freight items in the consignment have been delivered.
DeliveredSome or all freight items in the consignment have been delivered and Proof of Delivery is available.
Final ShortageDelivery is complete but not all items were able to be delivered..
IncompleteSender has partially completed consignment information for carrier in preparation for shipment.
In TransitConsignment is in transit between two carrier depots (initial/intermediate/final).
On Board for DeliveryConsignment is in a local delivery vehicle.
Partial DeliverySome but not all freight items in the consignment have been delivered.
Partial PickupSome but not all items in the consignment were scanned by carrier on pickup from sender.
Picked UpCarrier has picked up from the sender all freight items in the consignment.
Re-ConsignedConsignment information incorrect or incomplete. Corrected information supplied in a new consignment..
To be Re-DeliveredConsignment has been returned to local carrier depot as undeliverable: to be re-delivered on a following day.
Ready for PickupConsignment awaiting pickup by carrier.
UnconfirmedSender has completed consignment information for carrier in preparation for shipment but has not yet finalised the consignment.
Unsuccessful DeliveryConsignment could not be delivered.
Awaiting CollectionThe item or items in the shipment are awaiting collection.

StarTrack Freight Item Status

The following table only applies if the API is called with a StarTrack consignment note.

StatusDescription
At Delivery DepotFreight item is at carrier depot closest to receiver.
Booked InFreight item held at carrier depot closest to receiver until a date and time authorised by receiver.
ConfirmedSender has provided consignment information to carrier in preparation for shipment.
DeletedSender has deleted consignment information prepared earlier in preparation for shipment.
Item DeliveredFreight item has been delivered.
Final ShortageThe freight item was not able to be delivered and delivery of the consignment is complete..
IncompleteSender has partially completed consignment information for carrier in preparation for shipment.

On Board for DeliveryFreight item is in a local delivery vehicle.
Picked UpCarrier has picked up freight item from the sender.
Re-ConsignedConsignment information was incorrect or incomplete. Corrected information supplied in a new consignment..
